Business Gifts for Kids

Business Gifts for Kids

Uh oh! Did you just realize Christmas is in a few days? Did you forget that Hanukkah already happened? This is really unfortunate because you will soon have (or already have) disappointed children wondering why you skipped one of the best times of the year. If you’re child has a particularly entrepreneurial bent (like if they’ve done and enjoyed Lemonade Day) then these quick gift suggestions should ease your worries.

Amazing Holiday Gifts for Future Entrepreneurs

The skills necessary to become a successful entrepreneur are learned over the course of a life. If you decide to start your kids on the path to enterprise success, get them started early with these great toys with an entrepreneurial twist.

It’s My Biz Cup-Cakery

A toy that’s designed to teach business to girls can be fun or anyone. The “It’s My Biz Cup-Cakery” comes with all the materials and equipment necessary for starting a basic cupcake bakery from home. The complete package includes cupcake liners, business cards, display stands, and more. Perhaps the best part of the “Cup-Cakery” is the business development handbook which explains the basics of marketing, customer service, and operations management. There is one noticeable element missing from this remarkable toy, however. Parents will need to help purchase ingredients and provide supervision with the household stove.

Dot and Dash

In 2015, coding and technology toys became a major seller for parents looking to give their kids a jump start on technology. Two of the most successful toys are a pair of adorable robots, known as Dot and Dash, from the Wonder Workshop that teach kids about computer programming and technology. The robots come preloaded with various games but also teach kids to create their own games through guided exercises and puzzles. Designed for children ages eight and older, the one drawback to Dot and Dash is the cost. Dot starts at just $49.99 but Dash retails for $149.99 and, as a result, comes with a lot more features.

Monopoly

The original game teaching millions about finance, real estate, and more, Monopoly is a classic. Monopoly was first created in the 1930s, with different licensed versions based on everything from Star Wars and Mickey Mouse to colleges and more, and has since been translated into more than 37 languages. The goal of monopoly is to acquire assets and property while trying to bankrupt the other plays. The last one standing has created a monopoly and wins the game. While Monopoly is a lot of fun, the original intent of the game was to teach people about “single tax theory” and the dangers of monopolies. Today, it helps teach basic business strategies and general economics.
