Lemonade Day National is Expanding into New Communities through Successful Participation at the American Chamber of Commerce Executives Conference This Week in Long Beach, California
By Debbie Nazarian, National Director
I am one of several Lemonade Day National representatives who are attending the American Chamber of Commerce Executives conference this week in Long Beach, California. We are here to showcase our Lemonade Day youth entrepreneurship program and its benefits to the communities that chambers of commerce serve. We also hope to demonstrate how our program aligns well with the overall mission and vision of a chamber. We are proud to partner with many chambers in our licensed communities. Because of their tremendous success in implementing highly effective programs, we are looking forward to welcoming a new group of chambers to join our Lemonade Day this fall and next year.
Our time in Long Beach with the chamber executives is inspiring. We are meeting chamber executives and their staff who are committed to contributing to the growth of their communities. Lemonade Day provides them with an excellent opportunity to not only strengthen their communities now, but even more important, in the future. By sparking the entrepreneurial spirit in children while they are young and by giving them the time and attention to develop their skills, chambers can begin building their future workforce today! In addition, Lemonade Day provides chambers with an opportunity to educate young families on what they do and why they are so important. This year, we have an amazing opportunity for five Pacific Northwest cities to benefit from a generous grant from the Murdock Trust. We are evaluating several Pacific Northwest chamber of commerce candidates for this first-time opportunity.
The weather has been perfect this week in sunny Southern California, which is a huge bonus for those of us who have traveled to be here for the conference. Yet, the highlight for me and my Lemonade Day colleagues is that we are meeting new people who are open to working with us to create a better future for our communities and for our nation by empowering, inspiring and investing in our children! Lemonade Day is growing in the 2019-2020 fiscal year, and we are thankful that members of the American Chamber of Commerce Executives are included in our expansion plans.
