Kids: Participate in Our Best Tasting Lemonade Contest!
Do you think your lemonade recipe is a cut above everyone else’s? Will your product make people’s taste buds sing? If so reach out to your City’s Lemonade Day team to participate in your local Best Tasting Contest.
Every year, in preparation for Lemonade Day, kids compete for the best lemonade recipe. Contestants prepare their own special lemonade, which is then tasted and judged by a panel. Winners with the best tasting lemonade can receive prizes and certificates celebrating their product and the creativity that went into developing it.
Participating in the best tasting contest is a great way to test your recipe before you sell it on Lemonade Day. You can find out if there are any changes you might want to make to enhance your recipe, or you might determine that it’s perfect just the way it is.
The Best Tasting Contest is also a fun opportunity to meet other kid entrepreneurs and see what they’ve been squeezing up in their kitchens. You will meet members of your local Lemonade Day team and be part of the excitement leading up to Lemonade Day!
Past winners of the best tasting contest have gone on to do extraordinary things.
Mikaila Ulmer participated in Lemonade Day when she was just 6 years old. She used a family recipe from her grandmother and won Lemonade Day’s Best Tasting contest in Austin, TX. Mikaila then went on to be a contestant on Shark Tank where she pitched BeeSweet Lemonade and received $60,000 in funding from Fubu CEO Daymond John. BeeSweet Lemonade was then picked up by Whole Foods and is now distributed to a variety of stores across the county.
So come check out your local Best Tasting Lemonade Contest! You’ll never know where it might lead you and at the very least you will have a sweet, fun-filled time.
About Lemonade Day
Lemonade Day is a non-profit dedicated to teaching every child across North America the business and financial skills that are the key ingredients of entrepreneurship. By learning these skills early in life, children will be better prepared to be successful, financially healthy adults. Through our fun, hands-on program Kids K-5 are empowered to start their very own business—a lemonade stand—and experience the feeling of earning real money, using 100% of their profit to spend, save and share based on their own goals.
Lemonade Day is in 62 cities throughout the United States. Over the past 10 years, we have served more than 1 million kids in our kidpreneur programs and in 2016 alone, 101,000 kids participated in Lemonade Day.
